Can I move a Sofa using u-haul furniture dolly?
Posted under sofa furnitureWe are moving and we have a 3 seater sofa. Can I use the u-haul furniture dolly to move it ? My plan is to put one side on the dolly and lift the other side and push. Did someone try that or any other suggestions ? No stairs in start or destination .
The last answer made me update this question. Do we use a Utility Dolly (the one used for Refrigerator etc) instead of Furniture Dolly
I did. i just bought a ratchet strap at home depot or lowes and put a piece of cardboard between the dolly and the couch so it wouldnt stress or tear, then put it up lengthwise, and rested the arm of the couch on the foot of the dolly and ran the strap around the middle of the couch and through the back of the dolly, cinched it, and wheeled her up three flights of stairs solo.took a bit of sweat, but if you dont have friends (new to the area) then theres really no other choice. and by the way, most dollies are rated for over 200 lbs, if you have a couch that weighs more than that, ( and ive never seen one that does) than you need help anyways.
