I am moving in January, and I want my room looking great. My room color is going to be a light green. I have a loft bed from rooms-to-go. (similar to a bunk bed but it has a desk underneath) that has a wooden desk, and is silver and black. then I have a wooden frame futon(it looks like a normal bed…it just can be folded) then a tall dresser, normal dresser, and a book shelf. What are some ways I can arrange these, and what are some things I can decorate with? I want to save as much money as possible.
No offense to you or anyone else, but decorating is as personal, as the type of hygene you practice. No answers here will be right,,,or wrong. We all have personal preferences.
I suggest this; What if anything are the "COOL" things you already have, or enjoy? It is YOUR room after all. It can be mild, wild, static, or animated, it truly is up to you in what you have, like, can afford, etc.
Not knowing the size of the room or its furnishings, I suggest it's a place where you may spend a majority of your time? If I were in that situation, I might want space enough aside from bed, dressers, etc, where I might have my entertainment issues in a place that was easily accessible. I might want space in a corner for my comp, or desk? I might want all my clothing within reach of my bed, so I wouldn't strictly have to get up to dress,,,LOL,,,teasing.
In any case, my point is, craft the room as it makes you feel most comfortable, or invited into. The good news is that along with the freedom to do as you wish, you also have the freedom to make changes.

I have a black futon mattress in a dark brown wood frame. I want to buy a table for my tv, mags and stuff but I like this Black one. will it look bad to have a black table near a dark brown wood frame? black is my main base color for decoarting, but i wasn't sure if all furniture should be the same color.
thanks.
It will look fine together. Besides, if it's gonna have magazines, tv, etc. on it, it won't show much anyway. There are many black & brown fabrics so you might consider getting some pillows in a combination fabric. Also, combining those two colors are very chic and clean. You can choose a great accent color (any/all colors would work) and make it a very elegant and comfortable room.
i just asked a question about matching furniture
well i decided to painy by brown frame futon black bc the color is faded and its hard to find matching furniture.
but the frame is finished, and its glossy dark wood. now to paint it, do i just buy black paint and do it? or do i have to do something to the wood first?
thanks
There are very few paints that would take to the treated wood without sanding first. Sanding the frame would make the process a 100 times easier and faster. Good luck!
I was going to paint my room pink so i have a pink sheet and a few pink pillows. Things in my room such as my futon bed and my vanity are black so i was wondering what color to paint my walls. I was thinking pink at first but now my parents are trying to tell me to go with an "accent" color that i can just put the pink with but im not sure. Any ideas?
So many things go with pink! It depends what your style is. I would go to a home store and get a pink paint chip in the shade closest to your sheets, and hold it against different colors to see what looks good to you.
I personally like pink with ivory for a feminine room, with green for a bright, cheerful space, or with browns for a more trendy look.
Like I said, it depends on your individual style and taste.
its black and is starting to small
Small??? Smell you might say. Well there's one thing you can do….take it out side when it's really sunny find a spray bottler and mix some fabric softener and water and spray it all over that would help.
