6 Standard pillows 26X26" (3 x 26 = 78) is the closest size.

27X26" would be ideal (3 X 27 = 81 inches) the extra inch will help them fit snugly and you want them to overlap the backrest/seating by an inch or two, the problem is you can't buy pillows in those dimensions unless you had them custom made or make them yourself, even outdoor cushions come in universal sizes-chaise: 21×71", bench: 46×18", cushions: 21×44", same with body pillows. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2128727#Features+%26+Specifications 78×27"

sofa futon
We're thinking of buying this sofa. We know it won't be the most comfortable sofa around, but are having problem fitting a normal sofa through our door. We were wondering if anyone who has experience with similar products could let us know if they think it's really uncomfortable, etc. We do expect to keep it for a few years.

The one you show looks really comfy I think it would be great. It looks nice you can hardly tell its a futon. Also if you read the specifics on it it has an 8" foam matress on it so I think it would be just fine for the money.

I live in an apartment, only like one flight up but I'm a small girl and I am not looking forward to lugging a huge box of pieces or an entire piece up a hill and stairs.
you will probably have to call some stores in your area and ask their policy on it. my hubby and i personally rent our couch and chaise lounge from rent a center(we got it on a great deal where it cost only $300 for both) and they delievered for us, they will on just about anything your renting from them.

This morning I let my daughter have cereal on a tray on the sofa - breaking a rule I swore I would never break. The sofa slants front to back so when she spilled her cereal bowl (which of course she did) and didn't tell me about it, ( ditto) it pooled in one spot. I am going remove the cover and wash it if possible. any suggestions about how to deal with the futon?
if the milk soaked in then you have to wash it all out or you will get an awful smell from it for a good week!
so flush it with lots of water and turn it upside down so the water does not flush the milk further in to the futon. just water as it will do no damage.

I've been using my cheap, metal futon only as a sofa since I bought my bed a few months ago, but it's becoming less and less comfortable. The mattress is slipping through the crack between the back of the futon and the seat, and no matter which way I turn it, it keeps doing so. This makes sitting in it more painful than relaxing and I often find myself sitting on the floor instead. Is there any way to fix my mattress?
No there is no way to fix it besides gettin a thick mattress pad or buy a new thicker mattress.
