Futon frame construction-which is better?

I am looking to buy a full size futon sofa bed. Bifold is good and so as maple, ash and oak but what about construction.

Is tounge and groove or mortise and tenon construction better?

Also, do you know of any good website store that sells good quality futon sofa bed for a great price?

tounge and groove or mortise and tenon construction are both good. They are all glued together and the wood will break before the glue joint will ever break.

Has anyone bought a COMFORTABLE sofa bed recently?

I have slept on so many uncomfortable sofa beds and futons. Now I have to buy one myself.
Can anyone out there recommend a really comfortable one (in sleep mode) which one can purchase in uk?

I have had 3 and none of them were comfy. We had Lazy boys, Bassnett and England(Lazy boy company). So my exp is save your money. Besides they are a pain to move.

I am considering buying a futon day bed, because I have a bad back, is there a bar like there is in sofa beds?

I will be sleeping on it often and I need to know if it has bars or wooden rods that will hinder my being comfortable

Yes it has tonz of bars! At least the one i had did…. that's what held the bed up is just a row of bars!
So i am telling you - DO NOT USE A FUTON FOR YOUR BAD BACK! They made me get a bad back!

Futon Sofa Problems please help?

i am having problems with my futon i have tried to pull it up till i hear it click but it keeps catching on something and im not sure of what it is catching on please help

If it is a techwood-welton you have a bad mech.They come with a one year warranty.There are no parts available to fix the problem.

Using a double bed as a sofa for guests?

Has anyone got any suggestions or things I could buy to use a double bed for comfortable seating for friends who come over. Something we can lean back on and watch TV for instance. Maybe using cushions or something extra I can buy?

I have limitd space and I don't want to buy a futon or sofa bed because I always find them uncomfortable to sleep on.

Buy several backrests intended for reading in bed. They are pillows with backs and arms, like sitting in a chair, only on your bed.

You could also use bean bag chairs as extra seating and just pile them in the corner to get them out of the way when your guests are gone.

Which tends to be more comfortable, futons or sofa beds?

I’m a college students so I need furniture for my apartment. I really don’t have the money for expensive furniture so I’m looking for a futon or sofa bed that is under $250. I need if as a couch and also if any of my friends stay over the night. So i want to know which one is more comfortable and likely to remain comfortable longer.
