Anyone ever try Japanese style futons for everyday use? Are they comfortable?
Posted under futonsI am looking into the Japanese style futons, and I was wondering what other people's experiences have been.
Are they comfortable, or are they too hard to sleep on? Where did you get yours?
Do any of the sellers allow you to return the futon if you don't like it, or try before you buy?
How long did it take you to adjust to it?
Some say that they are hypoallergenic. Can anyone confirm this? Did they prevent allergies while sleeping?
Thanks in advance!
I had one and within a very short time, it was about as soft as a pile of 4 or 5 blankets. I suppose it'd be better if you could fluff it up on a regular basis, but those things are damned heavy. They are easy to sleep on if you're used to sleeping on the floor. Returning a futon to the store is like returning a regular mattress. If it's been slept on, chances are they won't take it back. As far as hypoallernenic, I couldn't say, since I have no allergies.
