We have espresso leather sofas from Pottery Barn. what color should we paint the walls?

We have navy and gold window treatments that are way too expensive to change . We have cathedral ceilings. Any recommendations on paint colors. Something to bring in a little light but blend the dark sofas/tables and gold/navy drapes.
